BLUEBERRY WAFFLES

Today I Made:
BLUEBERRY WAFFLES for BREAKFAST.
Recipe from VeganYumYum.
I used Whole Wheat flour instead of all-purpose and frozen blueberries instead of fresh.
The original recipe also called for a Lemon Icing, but I thought that would be way too sugary for me.
Husband thought I should make it next time.
Reminds him of something you can order at IHOP.

Over all these waffles were excellent.
I ended up topping them with a little Earth Balance, Trader Joe's Organic Maple Syrup and just a few slivered almonds.

*I found a tip to making waffles crispy.
Right before eating them, pop them into a toaster oven for a few minutes and they come out super crispy.

Yep, for the life of me I can't get my waffles to come out super crispy, so I have to stick them in the toaster for a little bit.
You can't go wrong with blueberry waffles!

Mmmmm waffles... and blueberries... and MAPLE SYRUP. Yum! (I love TJ's)

The smoke has dissipated a bit for us. There is ash all over everything though. Hope the air is better up your way now. Thank goodness the weather is supposed to start cooling back down.

Thanks for great photos.
The action characters really add to the food presentations.

I find that Trader Joe's is a great value for the maple syrup... even better than Costco!

You might consider making a double recipe next time and freeze the extras. Then you can toast them to heat and crisp them just like they came out of the waffle iron.
